Attention, Gretsch drum fans living in the Chicago area! Fred W. Gretsch, fourth-generation representative of the Gretsch Family, will make a rare personal appearance at the  http://chicagomusicexchange.com]Chicago Music Exchange  this coming Thursday, October 1 to celebrate his 50th year in the music business.  In addition to meeting fans and signing autographs, Fred will talk about the history of the Gretsch Company (which had offices in Chicago from the 1920s through the '60s), the instruments the company makes, and the artists that have played those instruments over the past several decades.

There'll also be musical performances, including guitar star Paul Pigat and his band Cousin Harley, who'll play an eclectic set of rockabilly, country, swing, and blues. Drummer Jesse Cahill will anchor the trio on a great Gretsch drumkit.

The event starts at 6:00 p.m., with product giveaways throughout the evening. The Chicago Music Exchange is located at 3316 North Lincoln Avenue in Chicago. Space is limited; go to  http://chicagomusicexchange.com/pages/events]chicagomusicexchange.com/pages/events  to rsvp, or call 888-686-7872 for more information.
