Can I record the trigger and pick my drum sound at mixdown?

I am wondering if I can record the output from a Pintech ax14s (woven head trigger) drum... and then wait until I mix my recording, to pick my sound from the Alesis DM5 module and trigger from the recording?

Any help appreciated.

Sure can!

On some of my recordings I wanted a fatter bass drum sound. What we did was run the bass drum track from Cubase into my Roland TMC-6 (Trigger MIDI Converter). Did a MIDI out of that into the sampler. Recorded it as a new track and layered it.

There are probably other approaches, but it definitely can be done.
