Mick Avory, born Michael Charles Avory on February, 15 1944 in East Molesey, Surrey, England, is an English musician, best known as the longtime drummer and percussionist for the British rock band, The Kinks (1964 - 1984).

Prior to joining The Kinks, Avory rehearsed on two different occasions (late May/early June 1962) at the Bricklayers Arms Pub in London with a group of musicians who would later become known as The Rolling Stones.

Avory played drums on The Kinks' 1964 hit "You Really Got Me" (#1 UK, #7 US), and their 1967 hit single "Waterloo Sunset" (#2 UK), as well as nineteen other UK Top 40 singles.
