    Steve Shelley, born Steven Jay Shelley on June 23, 1962 in Midland, Michigan, is an American drummer, best known his work with alternative 'noise' rock band, Sonic Youth (1985-2011).

    Shelley is currently recording and occasionally performing with the indie folk group, Sun Kil Moon.
