Tris Imboden

Tris Imboden, born Gregory Tristan Imboden on July 27, 1951, is an American studio session and rock drummer, best known as the current drummer for the legendary band, Chicago (1990 - present). Prior to joining Chicago, Imboden spent 12 years (1977 - 1986) as full-time touring and recording member of Kenny Loggins Band. He also co-founded (1970) and played drums for the American rock band, Honk, providing the soundtrack for the surf documentary film, Five Summer Stories.

As a session drummer, Imboden has worked with likes of Neil Diamond, Kenny Loggins, Firefall, Richard Marx, Steve Vai, Roger Daltrey and Crosby, Stills & Nash. As a touring drummer, he has worked with Kenny Loggins, Al Jarreau, Chaka Khan, Firefall, Cock Robin, Michael McDonald, Los Lobotomys and others.

At the age of 57, Imboden was diagnosed with Stage IIIA lung cancer — he has been a lung cancer survivor since 2009.
