Spencer Dryden, born April 7, 1938 in New York City, New York, was an American drummer, best known for his work with Jefferson Airplane (1966–1970, 1996) and New Riders of the Purple Sage (1971-1977). He also played drums with The Dinosaurs, and The Ashes (later known as The Peanut Butter Conspiracy).
In 1996, Spencer Dryden was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, along with the rest of Jefferson Airplane.
Spencer Dryden died on January 11, 2005 in Petaluma, California; he was 66.
