Phil Taylor

Phil Taylor, born Philip John Taylor on September 21, 1954 in Hasland, Chesterfield, England, is best known as "Philthy Animal" Taylor, drummer for the British rock 'n' roll band, Motörhead (1975–1984, 1987–1992), and for recording eleven studio albums and four live albums with the band.

Taylor grew up in Leeds, and at the advice of his father, took drum lessons at Leeds College of Music.

Taylor replaced Motörhead's first drummer, Lucas Fox, in 1975 during the recording of the band's first album, On Parole.

Phil Taylor died of liver failure on November 11, 2015; he was 61.
