Gordy Marshall

Gordy Marshall, born Gordon Marshall on March 16, 1960 in Nottigham, England, is a British drummer best known for his 25 years drumming for the Moody Blues. He also played drums on Jeff Wayne's The War of the Worlds tour and 2012 studio album.

As a session drummer, Marshall has worked with the likes of Sir Cliff Richard, Rod Stewart, Mariah Carey, Emma Bunton (a.k.a. Baby Spice of The Spice Girls), Lulu, Chris Thompson (Manfred Mann), Russell Watson, Jennifer Ellison, Jason Donovan, and numerous others. In addition to his pop and rock work, Gordy has been involved in many West End musicals, including Fame, Grease, We Will Rock You, Mamma Mia, Rent, Whistle Down The Wind and Thriller Live! The Michael Jackson musical at the Lyric Theatre.

In 2009 Gordy Marshall released his book, Postcards From a Rock and Roll Tour, a witty and wry take on life on the road touring with The Moody Blues. Part memoir, part travelogue, it's a candid, unexpected and often hilarious account of just what it's like to travel around the world playing to sell-out audiences, living out of a suitcase and spending days and days on a tour bus.

In 2015, Gordy Marshall and Paul Bliss put together a new band, Legend of a Band, a tribute to The Moody Blues.
