Meinl

Meinl Cymbals and Meinl Percussion highlighted several new products at the Meinl booth during 2012 NAMM Show in Anaheim, CA.

Byzance Jazz Big Apple Ride

The Byzance Jazz Big Apple Ride is a specially developed ride cymbal which meets the requirements of traditional old school jazz music. A smaller bell and distinctive large bow offers a sweet, pearly and full-bodied ping with a long shimmering sustain.

New York City, a.k.a. the "Big Apple". The epicenter of Jazz. New York City has had a love affair with Jazz, the story of which is legendary. That's why it's the perfect inspiration for the Byzance Jazz Series Big Apple Ride, a cymbal that captures the history, culture and tradition of all the great Jazz drummers who've spent time swinging in the "Big Apple".

Byzance Vintage Crashes & Rides

The combination of a sandblasted surface, big hammer marks and thin material enable an outstanding dry wash in a low frequency range with a buttery, soft attack. Exceptional crashes! The Vintage rides deliver more full bodied ride characteristics with a stronger response, but still with the jazz sound attributes of a warm and dark spread and a soft buttery feel.

Maraclaves

The MEINL Maraclaves are an exciting hybrid percussion instrument. They are a pairing of full volume maraca "bulbs" mounted on solid American White Ash "handles". The result is a new way to combine the two timbres inside an efficient set of move-ments.

Made from American Ash wood (Fraxinus americana L.) with a plastic shaker head.
