Vincent Dee

Working as a professional musician for over five decades, Nashville drummer, Vincent Dee, is all set to add yet another accomplishment to his resume by becoming the next Silver Star.

HealthSpring's Silver Stars competition gives talented Tennesee seniors (60 years of age or older) an opportunity to take the stage in Music City (Nashville, TN) and compete for $7,500 in prize money. This year's competition marks the fifth year HealthSpring has delivered their senior talent showcase, giving a huge pool of talented singers, musicians, and dancers that have been ignored by shows like American Idol™ (contestants must be age 16-28!), America’s Got Talent™, and Nashville Star™, a real opportunity to shine.

The 2012 Silver Stars show competition takes place on Sunday, October 21, from 4-6 pm at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN. The ten finalists, which Vince Dee is one of, will take the stage to compete for three cash prizes: 1st Place - $5,000, 2nd Place - $2,000, and 3rd Place - $500.

As the only self-contained drummer act performing in the Silver Stars finals, Vincent Dee said that during his drum solo "there will be a few fun, crazy antics during my performance ... to be as entertaining as a drummer can possibly be." As to what got him interested in the contest to begin with ... "their seems to be nothing but interest in vocal talent nowadays and we drummers — who hold things together and inspire the song — get lost in the background. We deserve more!"

Tickets for the Silver Stars show finals are free, so make plans to be at the Ryman Auditorium, located at 116 5th Ave North, Nashville, TN, by 3pm on Sunday, October 21st, and cheer for Vincent Dee, who says, "screaming and loud applauding audience members would be greatly appreciated!" With Nashville drummer Billy Block hosting the show, perhaps its a sign that the next Silver Star is destined to be a drummer. Good luck, Vince ... and break a stick (or not). Regardless, let's give the drummer some!

Vincent Dee was awarded 3rd Place in the Silver Stars competition.
