Roger Hawkins

Roger G Hawkins, born October 16, 1945 in Mishawaka, Indiana, is an American drummer best known for his role with the studio band known as The Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section of Alabama.

Hawkins's drumming can be heard on numerous hit singles, including Percy Sledge "When a Man Loves a Woman", Aretha Franklin "Respect," and "I Never Loved A Man", Wilson Pickett "Mustang Sally," "Land of 1,000 Dances", as well as hits with The Staple Singers, Johnnie Taylor, Cat Stevens, Duane Allman, Joe Cocker, Paul Simon, Bob Seger, Rod Stewart, Bobby "Blue" Bland, Traffic and Willie Nelson.
