John Bonham

Led Zeppelin's "Black Dog" was recorded in 1971 at Headly Grange, Hampshire, with the Rolling Stones Mobile Studio. Originally released on November 8, 1971 on the group's untitled fourth album. It was also released as a single on December 2, 1971 and reached #15 on the US pop charts. "Black Dog" along with other Led Zeppelin hits were remastered from the original recordings and released on the Mothership CD in 2007.

Led Zeppelin bass player, John Paul Jones, is credited with writing the main riff of the song. He wanted to write a song that people could not "groove" or dance to.
